Product Description

The Centurion i5 is a reliable, cost-effective wired infrared safety beam (photocell) system designed to protect automated gates, garage doors, access points, and perimeter areas. It detects people, vehicles, or objects in the path of a moving gate or door, allowing the automation system to stop or respond the moment the beam is broken. With a wide, self-aligning beam and a long 40m range, the i5 is a versatile, budget-friendly safety solution that works with virtually any gate or garage automation system on the market — not just Centurion's own.

How It Works

The i5 consists of a transmitter and receiver mounted on opposite sides of an entrance. The transmitter sends a modulated infrared beam to the receiver; when that beam is interrupted, the receiver changes the state of an internal relay. The relay's contacts are potential-free and can be wired as either normally-open or normally-closed, making the i5 easy to interface with most gate motors, garage door operators, and third-party alarm systems.
